Cat scratch fever symptoms are the same as cat scratch disease which affects humans though this is not a human-related disease

But then you can contract it from cats that have this infection it could be your cat or that of your friends thus the need to be very cautious about the kind of play you engage with your cat.

It is known that most cat having this infection does not show signs or symptoms of this disease. 

Research from the centre for disease control reveals that about 40% of cats are with this disease which is caused by a bacteria called Bartonella,

Also, the affected areas will show signs of redness, pus and swelling, the affected person may experience mild feverish condition, loss of appetite and fatigue which will clear off after some time on its own.

Humans can only get infected with this illness through rough play, bites or scratches from their kitties, 

if the cat licks a wounded part of your body is another way the sickness can be transferred to humans, thus the need to learn the effective ways how not to be infected by this cat illness

Mind the kind of play you have with your felines, rough play with  your kitty can result in scratches on your body and you may not be aware if he has the infection

You should constantly practice hygiene while with and after playing with your cat thus you must wash your hands thoroughly with soap.

If you are mistakenly scratched while playing with your kitty it is advisable to wash the affected part with soap and rub with antibiotics ointment and the affected area should be covered till it is healed of the wound.

If you have any injury or wound you sustained elsewhere it is better you cover them and allowed them to get heal before playing with your cat

Always be observant to see if fleas have been parching and licking your cat, and have him treated for fleas bites because fleas are one of the main causes of cat scratch fever symptoms in most kitties

If you come in contact with a strange or your friend’s cats do not touch, it could be that such cat is with the bacteria thus the above rules are still applicable in this situation.
